Our Meat Cutter Apprentices ensure that our guests receive the best and most delicious products, presented according to their requirements. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service and supporting the Meat Lead, you'll ensure our offerings and services promote guest loyalty, and store growth and success. As a member of our Meat Team, your primary responsibility will be to cut meat and other products for sale, ensuring our customers receive the freshest products possible. You’ll create and sustain an exemplary customer service atmosphere to build lifelong relationships by understanding and exceeding customer needs. To thrive in this position, you should be a team player who supports colleagues, is eager to grow into leadership, and can inspire those around you.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Prior experience in the field or related field
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Education Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent; Vocational/Technical
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Learn to cut meat for sale, including removing products from the cooler and cutting into smaller sizes for packaging.
• Learn to make ground meat by grinding coarse meat and preparing it for sale.
• Accurately record and assist with special orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist in maintaining the meat cooler and freezer efficiency, including unloading deliveries.
• Learn all aspects of code dating to ensure product safety.
• Follow proper procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Wrap and maintain meat cases effectively.
• Rotate and check code dates on products to ensure safety.
• Provide products and services that meet customer requirements, adhering to the Company's Principles, Purposes, and Service Credo.
• Maintain safety as the top priority for team members, guests, and products.
• Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers and ensuring their orders meet expectations. Make suggestions to enhance the shopping experience.
• Share food knowledge with team members and customers, demonstrating a commitment to learning about food.
• Learn and retain current work methods.
• Handle products and equipment properly, following food safety and safety guidelines.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tools, and work environment.
