Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Berkeley is hiring a Meat Department Team Member to support counter service, stocking, and sanitation. You will help maintain clean displays, assist with sampling, and deliver friendly, efficient service to customers and Team Members daily.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and adherence to health and safety standards. Prior retail experience is not required, and flexible scheduling including nights and weekends is common.

• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
• Proactively reads labels and familiarizes oneself on various products.
• Assists with periodic inventory checks.
• Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
• Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Checks quality and displays; keeps cases and shelves clean and stocked.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Assists with sampling program; keeps sample areas full and clean.
• Cleans cases, glass, signs, and other fixtures.
• Arrives on time, well groomed and ready to work; attends trainings.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Preps, stores, rotates, stocks and merchandises products to maximize sales.
• Follows health, sanitation and safe work practices.
