Job summary

Stater Bros. Markets, Inc. is seeking a Meat Clerk to provide G.O.A.T service to customers, helping with meat selections, answering questions, and ensuring product freshness.

You will support daily department operations, including cutting, trimming, packaging, labeling, and maintaining sanitation standards while following company policies. You will also assist with inventory, rotate stock, handle equipment safely, and help with pricing and display of products, contributing to a positive shopping

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Friendly, helpful attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work well within the team and follow direction with a good attitude.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and teammates.
• Basic math and reading skills for pricing, labels, inventory.
• Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful service while maintaining a professional demeanor and enhancing the customer’s shopping experience (G.O.A.T)
• Assist the customer with purchases and services such as slicing, grinding, repackaging, serving suggestions, etc.
• Wrap, weigh, trim, price, and adjust pricing for all meat department products in compliance with company policies and weights and measures regulations.
• Maintain proper supply of products in cases and packaged deli through rotation and display per standards
• Clean up wrapping, scaling, and production equipment according to sanitation procedures
• Adhere to safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes
• Grind meat and prepare specialty items such as kabobs, marinated cuts, and custom orders
• Handle meat products safely including storage and disposal
• Operate meat processing equipment safely and efficiently
• Order products and supplies and inventory as assigned
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth department operations and great customer experience
• All other related duties as required and assigned
