Job summary

Dierbergs Markets is seeking Meat Associates to join a team focused on quality meats and customer service. You will stock cases, weigh and wrap products, and ensure accurate order fulfillment.

Essentials include being 16+, following safety guidelines, basic math and reading skills, and flexibility for weekend shifts. Experience with meat products is valued, with cross-training opportunities available.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Follow safety and food-handling guidelines and keep work area safe and clean.
• Read and locate basic information from food specifications books, follow recipes, charts, invoices, and temperature gauges.
• Basic computer and math skills, including basic arithmetic operations.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Prompt and regular attendance based on schedule.
• Adherence to dress code, appearance and hygiene standards.
• A Hepatitis A vaccination (MO only).
• May be cross-trained in other departments.

Responsibilities

• Stock, handle food, and help customers in a team setting.
• Represent quality products with enthusiasm and knowledge.
• Learn about meat products and communicate information to customers.
• Promote products using suggestive selling techniques.
• Operate and clean meat-related equipment (where allowed).
• Keep meat cases stocked and showroom-ready.
• Process customer orders accurately and confirm details.
• Weigh, wrap, and label merchandise.
• Rotate meats by sell-by dates and manage transfers.
• Cut, trim, and weigh meats for production and customer requests.
• Work in refrigerated environments and maintain sanitation.
