Job summary

Dierbergs Markets, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Assistant Meat Manager to lead our Meat Department full-time.

You will supervise department associates, provide training, and ensure top-tier product quality and presentation. Responsibilities include stocking and maintaining meat cases, enforcing food safety standards, forecasting and ordering inventory, and collaborating with store management to create compelling displays and promotions.

Qualifications

• 1+ years Journeyman Meat or Service Counter Journeyman experience.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Passion for food and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to forecast and order products, manage inventory, and ensure freshness.
• Capable of multitasking, delegating tasks, and enforcing department programs.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends with flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to department associates with focus on training and development.
• Stock and maintain meat cases to uphold quality standards and visual appeal.
• Uphold freshness and comply with food safety policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with store management to create compelling displays and promote specials.
• Champion suggestive selling and set a positive example for the department.
