The Arc Carroll County in Westminster, MD is seeking energetic Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with developmental disabilities in our Meaningful Day Program. The role offers 30 hours per week with daytime hours, Monday–Friday, supporting individuals in small groups and one-to-one settings.

Responsibilities include creating meaningful activities, fostering independence, and helping with basic daily skills while ensuring safety and documentation.

The Arc Carroll County is seeking energetic and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Meaningful Day Program.

Schedule

• 30 hours/week
• Monday–Friday
• Hours vary between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

What You’ll Do

• Support individuals in small groups and a 1:1 setting, completing person-centered activities and participating in small group activities
• Create and implement innovative and meaningful activities tailored to each person’s goals and interests
• Encourage skill development in job readiness, social skills, self-care, math, reading, and safety
• Provide personal care and mobility support as needed
• Assist with community access and transportation
• Promote independence, decision-making, and self-advocacy
• Document services and progress according to agency and state requirements

Pay & Benefits

Requirements

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with 2+ years driving experience
• Ability to pass background, drug, and driving record checks
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills
• Ability to complete required training courses, including CPR, First Aid, Med Tech Certification, and other DDA-mandated training
• Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 lbs frequently and assist with transfers
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing
• Ability to assist with wheelchair handling, transfers, and securing individuals safely in vehicles
