Job summary

The Arc Carroll County Inc. is seeking dedicated DSPs in Westminster, MD to support individuals in group and one-on-one settings, providing person-centered activities aligned with each person’s goals. You will help with daily living skills, mobility, and community participation.

No experience required—paid training provided. The role offers daytime weekday shifts, a starting pay around $20 per hour, and benefits including paid sick leave and retirement plan options.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with 2+ years driving experience.
• Ability to pass background, drug, and driving record checks.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
• CPR, First Aid, Med Tech Certification, and other required DDA training.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in small groups and 1:1 settings with person-centered activities.

Schedule

• Hours vary between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

What You’ll Do

• Support individuals in small groups and a 1:1 setting, completing person-centered activities and participating in small group activities
• Create and implement innovative and meaningful activities tailored to each person’s goals and interests
• Encourage skill development in job readiness, social skills, self-care, math, reading, and safety
• Provide personal care and mobility support as needed
• Assist with community access and transportation
• Promote independence, decision-making, and self-advocacy
• Document services and progress according to agency and state requirements

Pay & Benefits

Requirements

• 18+ years old

• Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 lbs frequently and assist with transfers
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing
• Ability to assist with wheelchair handling, transfers, and securing individuals safely in vehicles
