Job summary

Union Settlement Association, an East Harlem nonprofit, seeks a Meals on Wheels Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the MOW program. You will supervise delivery staff, oversee meal preparation and routing, and ensure accurate documentation and compliance with NYC Aging and partner agency requirements.

The role reports to the Deputy Director, Aging, Health & Wellness, and involves coordinating with Case Management to manage client changes and maintain safe, efficient service delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or supervisory/program-management experience preferred.
• Three years of experience in program operations, food delivery, older adult services, transportation, logistics, or a related field.
• Food Handlers Certificate preferred.
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, e-mail, database).
• Excellent organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily Meals on Wheels operations to ensure meals are prepared, dispatched, delivered, and documented accurately and on time.
• Provide direct supervision, daily assignments, coaching, and performance oversight for MOW drivers, deliverers, and walkers.
• Supervise the MOW Associate and establish clear priorities for client intake, routing, client communications, and records.
• Monitor staff attendance and route coverage; coordinate substitutions and route assistance.
• Review route sheets for completeness and accuracy including delivered meals and refusals.
• Ensure adherence to delivery and safety procedures and report significant issues to leadership.
• Oversee client intake, route assignment, suspensions, restarts, terminations, and other service changes.
