Job summary

Tamarack Retirement Center is seeking a Food Production Technician to support daily kitchen operations and ensure high standards of food safety. The role includes preparing and portioning meals, stocking and ordering in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor, and ensuring proper labeling and storage of foods.

Teamwork is essential as you collaborate with other Food Production Technicians to deliver quality meals while adhering to infection control and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
• Experience in institutional foodservice preferred.
• Obtain a current or temporary Food Handler’s Permit offered by the Jackson County Health Department.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and exemplifies the mission of the facility and participates as a team member.
• Performs all kitchen duties, including substitutions and ordering in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Prepares, washes, trims, cooks and seasons food according to standardized recipes.
• Labels, dates and stores food and supplies properly to prevent waste.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety in all kitchen areas.
• Assists in checking in supplies and reports equipment repair needs.
• Supports positive interdepartmental relations and a cooperative work environment.
