Description: Meadow View Elementary is seeking highly motivated, quality applicants for this position. Meadow View is a 2nd - 4th grade building. The staff at Meadow View Elementary is incredibly caring and works in a collaborative manner. The hours for this position are: 7:30am-3:15pm M-Th and 7:45am-1:00pm Fri.

Job Summary: The associate role is one to assist the teacher in supporting specific learning goals by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve appropriate skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or in small groups to help achieve skills and understanding of class material
• Work with a wide range of various needs, including academic, behavior and social Examples:
  • Reads to students, listens to students read and participates in other forms of oral communication with the students
  • Guides each student toward making appropriate choices and accepting responsibility for their own behavior
• Assisting the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities
• Alerts the regular teacher to any problem or special information regarding an individual student
• Supervises students outside during arrival, recess, dismissal and may provide lunchroom supervision
