Job summary

JE Dunn Construction's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) seeks an M/E Engineer 2 to perform routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. You will collect data, assist in developing budgets and estimates, and help generate systems and bid analyses for major projects.

Working with a diverse team, you will follow safety and quality plans, learn the bid process, review options, and help coordinate mechanical/electrical scopes through preconstruction and construction phases,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years construction and/or engineering experience.
• Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic JE Dunn M/E tools and software.

Responsibilities

• Learns and actively participates in safety and quality plans and culture.
• Completes entry level and routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
• Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates from program and schematic design information using estimating system.
• Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options as part of preconstruction and completes systems analysis.
• Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for bid coordination.
• Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection input.
• Develops sequencing requirements for various systems to meet schedules.
• Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality problems and prepares constructability reviews.
