The State of Florida is seeking a Nursing Program Specialist to oversee MDS assessments at the Veterans’ Nursing Homes in Orlando. The applicant must have significant nursing experience and relevant qualifications, including a Registered Nurse license and proficiency with MDS.

This role involves scheduling assessments, analyzing quality reports, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while collaborating closely with nursing personnel and residents.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of professional nursing experience.
• At least 1 year experience working in a long-term care facility with a geriatric population.
• Experience conducting RAI-MDS assessments and compiling data reports.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and oversee scheduling of all resident MDS assessments.
• Review all MDS assessments to certify timely completion.
• Participate in Quality Assessment and Assurance Program.

Skills

Licensure as a Registered Nurse

Valid CPR card

MS Office Suite

MDS Certification

Education

Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field

Associate degree in nursing
