Job summary

Victoria Crossing Rehabilitation Center in Brandon, FL is seeking an experienced MDS Director (RN/LPN) to lead our MDS program, ensure accuracy and compliance, and optimize resident-centered care. This leadership role supports appropriate clinical documentation, reimbursement optimization, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Florida RN or LPN license.
• Minimum of two years MDS Coordinator or Director experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
• Strong knowledge of MDS 3.0, PDPM, Medicare regulations, reimbursement systems, and care planning processes.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain compliance in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all MDS assessments and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including Medicare, Medicaid, and PDPM requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive resident assessments and interviews.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans for short-term and long-term residents.
• Lead and participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, therapists, specialists, residents, and families to improve clinical outcomes.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and ongoing education to nursing staff regarding MDS processes and documentation standards.
• Conduct in-service training related to MDS 3.0, RAPS, CAAs, PDPM, and Medicare guidelines.
• Maintain and manage MDS assessment schedules and care plan timelines for all residents.
• Monitor reimbursement opportunities while ensuring regulatory compliance and clinical integrity.
• Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives related to clinical documentation and resident outcomes.

Location: Brandon, FL
Status: Full-Time 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Compensation: $46-$49 hourly (based on experience)

Position Summary

• Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain compliance in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

• RAC‑CT certification.

• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems utilized in long‑term care settings.

• Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
