Topaz HR partners with a growing healthcare organization to hire an experienced MDS Coordinator in Pittsburgh, PA. This role oversees the MDS process, ensures accurate clinical assessments, and supports reimbursement optimization within the facility.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compliant with state and federal regulations, and able to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident care and operational performance. RN license and prior MDS experience are required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• Previous MDS experience within skilled nursing or long-term care settings.
• Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, CMS regulations, and reimbursement processes.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage deadlines effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and regulatory compliance standards.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and complete MDS assessments in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Ensure timely and accurate MDS submissions.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning.
• Support Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement optimization.
• Monitor documentation accuracy and compliance standards.
• Participate in audits, surveys, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain current knowledge of CMS guidelines and reimbursement practices.
• Assist with care plan development and resident assessment coordination.
• Ensure accurate clinical documentation to support reimbursement and compliance objectives.
• Communicate effectively with facility leadership and clinical staff regarding assessment updates and requirements.
