Job summary

RegalCare is seeking a dedicated MDS Coordinator (LPN or RN) to join our Quincy team. The role focuses on overseeing resident assessments, coordinating care plans, and ensuring MDS compliance with federal and state requirements.

The ideal candidate is licensed in Massachusetts, with at least one year of MDS experience and strong communication, organization, and assessment skills to support accurate documentation and timely reimbursement processes.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as an RN or LPN in Massachusetts.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an MDS Coordinator.
• Strong communication, organizational, and assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and facilitate resident assessments per Federal and State regulations.
• Establish assessment schedules and ensure timely, accurate assessments.
• Transmit assessments to the State of Connecticut, Department of Health.
• Coordinate resident care plans per regulatory requirements.
• Initiate Medicare coverage for newly qualified residents and send denial letters when necessary.
• Stay updated on Medicare coverage changes and documents needed for reimbursement.
• Coordinate the MDS process across assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Facilitate care conferences with the interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate, complete and review Minimum Data Sets (MDS).
• Educate and train nursing staff and other departments on MDS processes and sections.
• Ensure current MDS/PPS updates are implemented and staff are in-serviced.
• Cross-train between PPS and OBRA.
• Conduct regular resident interviews as required by the MDS.
