Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented and organized with nursing and medical knowledge.
  • 3+ years clinical experience, preferably in long-term care.

Job description

Overview

The ideal MDS candidate is detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and engaged in bedside assessments and family meetings. They should be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices, procedures, and applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to long-term care.

How You Will Make a Difference
  1. Collect information to complete the MDS using medical records, bedside assessments, and interviews with staff, residents, and families.
  2. Participate in daily PPS meetings, weekly Medicare meetings, and month-end meetings to ensure federal billing requirements are met. Review the Plan of Care quarterly and with each comprehensive assessment to incorporate any changes.
  3. Provide ongoing education about the RAI process to all interdisciplinary team members, caregivers, and staff, including updates and changes as appropriate.
What You Need to Make a Difference
  1. Current registered nurse licensure in the state.
  2. At least three years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in long-term care.
  3. Minimum of one year of MDS experience.

This is a dual role: MDS Coordinator / Restorative and Floor Nurse. The schedule includes:

  • Two days as an MDS Coordinator
  • Two days as a Restorative Nurse
  • One day as a Floor Nurse

Additionally, the role requires coverage for night shift staff nurse during PTO.
