Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. seeks a Senior Domain Engineer to lead the MDMS workstream for the AMIR program. You will direct technical delivery, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and own end-to-end readiness from configuration to production transition.

You will guide architecture, integration, migration, and testing efforts, ensuring data quality, performance, and operational readiness while applying Agile and DevOps practices across the delivery lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 8+ years of related experience
• 5+ years leading complex software implementations with cross-functional teams
• 3+ years managing or directing technical resources
• Direct experience with Meter Data Management Systems in a utility AMI environment
• Knowledge of Head-End systems, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, REST and SOAP APIs, streaming integration, AWS, DevOps tools, monitoring, reporting, and data-quality analysis
• Ability to communicate technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to evaluate tradeoffs involving performance, security, usability, and maintainability
• Knowledge of architecture, testing, deployment, release practices, scalability, and maintainability
• Skill in designing reusable components and leading complex technical workstreams

Responsibilities

• Lead MDMS technical execution across architecture, requirements, design, configuration, development, integration, testing, migration, cutover, and stabilization.
• Partner with vendors and system integrators to build delivery schedules, define deliverables and acceptance criteria.
• Provide technical direction to internal engineers, vendors, and downstream application teams.
• Validate MDMS workflows and integrations for data quality, performance, and readiness.
• Coordinate legacy-system migration, mapping, reconciliation, and transition planning.
• Escalate complex issues and drive root-cause analysis and permanent resolution.
• Define testing, release, deployment, and production-readiness practices for the MDMS workstream.
• Review design and implementation tradeoffs around performance, security, usability, scalability.
• Ensure production support, monitoring, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer plans.
• Apply Agile, DevOps, and SDLC practices throughout delivery.
