Job summary

InGenesis seeks a Child Life Assistant to support pediatric patients and families with diversion, recreation and education materials. You will help provide bedside activities, outreach and clerical tasks in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma, CPR certification and at least 1 year working with children in healthcare or childcare. A related Associate’s degree is preferred, with opportunities to contribute to a diverse, patient-centered team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• One year of experience working with children in a health care or childcare setting.
• CPR certification required.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree in child development or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide additional staff coverage at special events and activities.
• Provide individual bedside activities and outreach to patients on the inpatient and outpatient units.
• Maintain accurate attendance records.
• Assist with transportation of patients to and from program activities and/or other special events.
• Assist the Child Life Specialist in orienting and supporting pediatric volunteers.
• Deliver equipment and devices to patient rooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in child development, early childhood education, human development, or a related field.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults through childcare, education, youth programming, recreation, or pediatric support roles.
