Job summary

InGenesis is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join our healthcare team. The role supports anesthesia providers and surgical staff by preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, supplies, and systems throughout the perioperative process.

The successful candidate will promote operational efficiency and patient safety, assist with intubation, and help ensure room turnover and supply readiness for scheduled cases in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of recent anesthesia technician experience in healthcare settings.
• Current BLS certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesia providers before, during, and after procedures.
• Prepare and maintain anesthesia machines, carts, monitors and related equipment.
• Anticipate needs through proper preparation of supplies and monitoring equipment.
• Assist with intubation and extubation as directed.
• Support OR staff with patient care during procedures.
• Review schedules to ensure equipment and supplies are available.
• Transport, set up, and maintain equipment including laryngoscope blades, monitors, EKG cables, ETCO2 lines, pulse oximetry, temp monitors, oxygen tanks.
• Verify equipment is cleaned, decontaminated, and functioning prior to procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning and aseptic setup.
• Facilitate OR turnover and prepare rooms for next cases.
• Support clinical staff for coordinated patient flow.
• Assist with housekeeping and room turnover as assigned.
• Adapt to changing patient needs and participate in departmental initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

InGenesis is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Anesthesia Technician to join our client's healthcare team. This position plays a vital role in supporting anesthesia providers and surgical staff by ensuring anesthesia equipment, supplies, and systems are properly prepared, maintained, and functioning throughout the perioperative process. The successful candidate will promote operational efficiency while helping deliver exceptional patient care and safety.

• Assist anesthesia providers before, during, and after patient procedures.
• Prepare and maintain anesthesia machines, carts, monitors, and related equipment.
• Anticipate the needs of anesthesia providers through proper preparation of supplies, patient monitoring equipment, and anesthesia delivery systems.
• Assist with intubation and extubation procedures as directed.
• Support operating room staff with requests and patient care needs during surgical procedures.
• Review surgical schedules to ensure required anesthesia equipment and supplies are available for scheduled cases.
• Transport, set up, and maintain equipment including:
  • Laryngoscope blades
  • Patient monitors
  • EKG cables
  • ETCO2 lines
  • Pulse oximetry equipment
  • Temperature monitoring equipment
  • Oxygen tanks and tubing
• Verify anesthesia equipment is cleaned, decontaminated, and functioning properly prior to procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning during preoperative and intraoperative care.
• Utilize aseptic technique when setting up supplies and equipment.
• Facilitate operating room turnover between cases and prepare rooms for upcoming procedures.
• Support clinical staff to ensure seamless coordination of care and efficient patient flow.
• Assist with housekeeping and room turnover duties as assigned.
• Adapt to changing patient care needs and support departmental initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two (2) years of recent experience as an Anesthesia Technician or in a related role within a hospital, surgery center, or ambulatory care setting required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of anesthesia equipment, supplies, and patient monitoring systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Commitment to patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care in an ambulatory surgical setting (if applicable).

Physical Requirements

• Frequently operates computers and electronic medical equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and lift supplies and equipment throughout the workday.
• Must be able to push, pull, carry, and transport equipment as needed to support patient care activities.
