Job summary

Peachtree Immediate Care in Maryland is seeking an Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider (FNP or PA-C) to manage episodic and chronic care for walk-ins and same-day appointments. You’ll perform exams, order tests, diagnose conditions, and treat acute illnesses with a team-focused culture.

The role requires MD licensure or eligibility for NP/PA, 2+ years experience, DEA, BLS/ACLS, and strong procedural and interpretive skills.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland NP/PA license or eligibility
• Current FNP or PA-C certification
• At least two years of clinical experience as an FNP or PA-C
• Active DEA registration or ability to obtain one
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to perform urgent care procedures (suturing, splinting, I&D, wound care)
• Ability to independently interpret X-rays and other diagnostic test results
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-service skills

Responsibilities

• Manage episodic and chronic conditions with walk-ins and same-day appointments for ages 2+
• Perform physicals (sports, DOT, pre-employment, and annual)
• Evaluate workers’ compensation injuries
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries
• Perform procedures (suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care)
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (X-rays, labs, 12-lead EKGs)
• Prescribe medications per Maryland regulations and clinic protocols
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses and follow-up care
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently
• Collaborate with clinical/operational team members for patient experience

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage episodic and chronic conditions with walk-ins and same-day appointments as the sole advanced practice provider for ages 2 and up.
• Perform physicals such as sports, DOT, pre-employment, and annual.
• Evaluate patients for workers’ compensation injuries.
• Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating acute illnesses and injuries
• Performing procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care
• Ordering and independently interpreting diagnostic tests, including X-rays, laboratory work, and 12-lead EKGs
• Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with Maryland regulations and clinic protocols
• Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
• Accurately and efficiently documenting patient encounters
• Collaborating with clinical and operational team members to provide a convenient, caring, and high-quality patient experience

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Maryland Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license, or eligibility to obtain one
• Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• At least two years of clinical experience as an FNP or PA-C
• Active DEA registration, or ability to obtain one
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to perform common urgent care procedures, including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care
• Ability to independently interpret X-rays and other diagnostic test results
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-service skills

Preferred Experience

• Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or internal medicine
• Experience practicing in a fast-paced or high-volume clinical environment as a sole provider
