Job summary

Elsevier seeks a licensed MD to join the Data Discovery and Enrichment team as Clinical Analytics Specialist, supporting CDS product development to enhance ClinicalKey search and discovery at the point of care.

You will validate clinical information, refine ontologies, and collaborate with clinicians, SMEs, and data scientists to build and maintain the health knowledge graph and enable analytics-driven content enrichment.

Qualifications

• Clinical degree required (MD, MBBS, GP); preference for formal training in evidence-based medicine.
• Experience with semantic technologies, text mining, and ontology management.
• Excellent command of English (spoken and written); another language a plus.
• Experience with medical vocabularies such as SNOMED CT and ICD-10; knowledge of ontology modeling.
• Strong computer skills in Windows; proficient with MS Word/PowerPoint and editorial workflows; Tableau for visualization.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, urgency, and ability to manage multiple projects with tight timelines.
• Clinician with informatics experience and knowledge retrieval.
• Ability to collaborate with mid- and senior-management stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Apply clinical knowledge to extract and integrate data in healthcare settings.
• Adapt domain ontologies for information extraction and data modeling.
• Collaborate with data scientists, clinicians, SMEs, taxonomists, and analysts for insights used in automation and product development.
• Model, validate, and maintain core extracted clinical relationships for the healthcare knowledge graph.
• Ensure high quality of automated indexing for search and discovery.
• Apply domain knowledge with external clinical experts to ensure content accuracy and evidence support.
• Build domain-specific training data sets for ML models used in point-of-care products.
• Derive predictive analytics from large healthcare datasets and contribute to analytics and prototyping.
