Job summary

Lansingschools is seeking a McKinney-Vento Coordinator to oversee the implementation of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act across the Ingham County Consortium. You will coordinate services for students and families, act as a liaison among districts, agencies, and community partners, and manage grant programs and reporting.

The role emphasizes advocacy, data-driven decision making, and collaboration with schools to ensure educational stability and access to resources for students

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, or related field preferred.
• Experience with grant management, budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
• Familiarity with McKinney-Vento programs and homeless education laws.
• Strong organization and communication abilities.
• Ability to travel within the consortium service area.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and coordinate services for students, youth, and families experiencing homelessness.
• Serve as liaison between students, families, districts, community organizations, and state agencies to ensure educational stability and access to resources.
• Manage grant-funded programs, data reporting, and consortium activities while advocating for students and families facing housing instability.
• Provide transportation-related services coordination and technical assistance for FORT transportation and related concerns.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and professional development, and maintain confidential records using Synergy and other data systems.
