Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a dedicated support assistant to aid the McKinney-Vento and Foster Care Liaison in enrolling homeless families in educational programs. You will perform administrative duties to support student services and act as a translator when needed.

Responsibilities include identifying eligible students, coordinating with school staff and external agencies, and ensuring timely follow-up with families. Strong organization and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
• Moderate typing skills with good accuracy.
• Proficient with basic office software and devices.

Responsibilities

• Assist Homeless Family Liaison in identifying and placing qualifying students under McKinney-Vento in educational programs.
• Work with Homeless Family Liaison to support K-12 homeless students.
• Communicate opportunities for eligible families to access homeless education programs.
• Maintain records and assist in data reporting for district, state, and federal requirements.
• Provide translational services for parents/guardians or unaccompanied youth.
• Coordinate with other departments to deliver student services timely.
