Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: The MCAS Clerk is responsible for all duties and responsibilities of the position as detailed under job requirements. The successful candidate will be very efficient and organized and well versed in Microsoft Office.

  • Report to Principal & School Counseling Coordinator
  • Standardized test clerk: MCAS, SAT, AP, ACT and any other test deemed appropriate
  • Track and record students who enter and leave the district for testing purposes
  • Communicate as necessary with the DESE
  • Communicate with Counselors, Deans, Principal & Coordinators
  • Order MCAS testing materials
  • Proctor MCAS testing throughout the year
  • Know how to utilize Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
  • Create MCAS Proctor/Monitor assignments for testing windows as well as room swaps as needed and create special education testing locations.

Coordinate the administration of state-mandated MCAS testing for the High School. Using the e the DESE Data Warehouse, ASPEN, and other online resources, identify all students who need to participate in MCAS testing. Maintain a fluid master schedule that is used by other staff members including: Principal, School Counseling Coordinator, Special Education Chairperson, Curriculum Coordinators, and School Counselors. Order and return all testing materials while maintaining strict security protocols. Assign available teachers to proctor for the ELA, Math, and Science MCAS scores and develop lists of room reassignments for testing purposes and security protocols. Responsible for managing the Stanley Z. Koplik Certificate of Mastery Award and the John and Abigail Adams’ Scholarship as well as all MCAS mailings, including but not limited to MCAS results and scholarship notifications. Also, responsible for any other requests made by the principal (or designee) and school counseling coordinator. Can utilize Microsoft Office Suite.

The houses are named after Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and John Whittier, three well-known New England writers. Each house has two to three school counselors, a dean, and an office. All students are assigned a house at the beginning of their freshman year.
