Job summary

Penn State University is seeking highly motivated Systems Engineers with MBSE expertise to join the ARL undersea systems office. You will contribute across the full lifecycle from concept to sustainment, developing models, requirements, and architecture artifacts using SysML and MBSE tools.

The role involves collaboration with Systems Engineering and Subsystem Design teams, manage risk assessments, and present technical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on MBSE with SysML, DoDAF or UAF frameworks.
  • Experience translating requirements into formal models and artifacts.
  • Maintain architecture traceability across design and test phases.

Responsibilities

  • Apply MBSE methods to define system architectures.
  • Develop and maintain system models using MBSE tools.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into models, interfaces and verifications.
  • Maintain requirements/architecture traceability across design and test.
  • Support technical reviews, trade studies, and risk assessments.
  • Integrate MBSE into engineering processes and collaborate with SMEs.
  • Prepare architecture views and related documentation.
  • Contribute to system development activities including requirements analysis and design.
