Job summary

nou Systems is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to join the Beavercreek, Ohio team. You will develop system models using MBSE, design architectures, and ensure traceability across lifecycles for defense programs.

The role partners with software, hardware, and cyber engineers to deliver digital engineering capabilities, including digital thread/twin, while mentoring junior engineers and preparing technical briefings for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (systems, aerospace, electrical, computer, or related).
• 4+ years in systems engineering with MBSE experience.
• Proficiency with MBSE tools (Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, EA).
• Strong SysML/UML modeling knowledge for architectures and behaviors.
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA) and traceability.
• Ability to interface with customers and translate needs into tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, and maintain system models using MBSE methodologies and tools.
• Design and integrate system architectures, interfaces, and workflows for DoD programs.
• Conduct requirements analysis, traceability, and validation across lifecycles.
• Support digital engineering capabilities including digital thread/twin integration.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and cyber engineers for seamless integration.
• Provide MBSE guidance, mentorship, and technical documentation to teams.
