Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Lathe Machinist II - Mazak for the 3rd shift. You will set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes to produce precision components to blueprint specifications.

The role requires at least 3 years of CNC lathe experience, knowledge of G-Code is preferred, and familiarity with Fanuc controls is a plus. A $3,500 sign-on bonus is available to qualified applicants who apply between July 20, 2026 and September 11, 2026.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, ability to understand and apply verbal, written and computer work instructions in English and perform basic arithmetic.
• At least 3 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist working on Lathe machines with Mill capabilities.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of G-Code is preferred.
• Knowledge of Fanuc controls is a plus.
• FAA Drug & Alcohol Program participation is required for Safety Sensitive Work.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes to produce precision components to blueprint specifications.
• Perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and machine setups for new and existing jobs.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and work instructions.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional and quality requirements.
• Monitor machine performance and make process adjustments to maintain production efficiency and part quality.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues and communicate concerns to leadership and engineering teams.
• Maintain accurate production records and follow all safety and quality procedures.
