Job summary

Trinity Employment Specialists in Tulsa, OK seeks a Mazak Laser Cutting Machine Operator to set up and operate industrial Mazak laser cutters for sheet metal parts. You will read engineering drawings, verify tolerances, and load materials using cranes or forklifts, following strict safety and quality standards.

The role requires 1–3 years of Mazak experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule with standard manufacturing hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training.
• 1–3 years of experience operating Mazak laser cutting machines.
• Experience with Mazak laser cutting equipment.
• Experience with various sheet metal gauges and plate thicknesses.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings, GD&T symbols, and cut sheets.
• Proficiency with measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and protractors.
• Ability to safely load and unload raw materials.
• Experience operating overhead cranes, jib cranes, or forklifts preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and bend/reach repeatedly.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and operate Mazak laser cutting machinery.
• Operate automated laser cutting systems, including shuttle tables and tower loaders.
• Load steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and other materials onto machine beds.
• Safely load materials using cranes, forklifts, or manual methods.
• Input and run cutting programs according to job specifications.
• Adjust cutting parameters based on material type and thickness.
• Monitor machine operation and maintain production and quality standards.
• Perform first-piece inspections and periodic quality checks.
• Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and read drawings and GD&T.

Mazak Laser Cutting Machine Operator – Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mazak Laser Cutting Machine Operator to set up and operate industrial laser cutting equipment used to cut, trim, or engrave sheet metal and other materials. The ideal candidate will have experience operating industrial Mazak laser cutting machinery, reading engineering drawings, and working with various material types and thicknesses. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to produce quality parts safely, efficiently, and within required tolerances.

Mazak Laser Cutting Machine Operator – Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and operate industrial Mazak laser cutting machinery
• Operate automated laser cutting systems, including shuttle tables and tower loaders
• Load steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and other raw materials onto machine beds
• Safely load materials using cranes, forklifts, or manual loading techniques as required
• Input and run cutting programs according to job specifications
• Select appropriate assist gases, including oxygen and nitrogen
• Adjust cutting parameters such as speed, focal point, beam frequency, and other settings based on material type and thickness
• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain production and quality standards
• Perform first-piece inspections and periodic quality checks
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and cut sheets
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet customer specifications and required tolerances
• Identify and report quality issues or equipment problems to management
• Follow all company safety rules and procedures
• Wear required PPE, including laser safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and cut-resistant gloves
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation following 5S principles
• Perform routine machine and equipment maintenance as required
• Assist with additional manufacturing and production duties as needed
