Job summary

Trinity Employment seeks a reliable Laser Cutting Machine Operator to set up and run industrial lasers for sheet metal cutting and engraving. You will interpret engineering drawings, select materials, and adjust cutting parameters to produce precise parts.

The role requires 1–3 years of laser experience, familiarity with Trumpf/Bystronic/Amada/Mazak equipment, and a strong focus on safety and quality. This is a full-time on-site position in Tulsa, OK.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training
  • 1–3 years of experience operating industrial laser cutting machines
  • Experience with laser cutting equipment such as Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, or Mazak
  • Experience with various sheet metal gauges and thicknesses
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and cut sheets
  • Proficiency with measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and protractors
  • Ability to safely load and unload raw materials
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, jib cranes, or forklifts preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and bend/reach repeatedly throughout the shift
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and properly use required PPE
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Responsibilities

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate industrial laser cutting machinery
  • Operate automated laser cutting systems, including shuttle tables and tower loaders
  • Load steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and other raw materials onto machine beds
  • Safely load materials using cranes, forklifts, or manual loading techniques as required
  • Input and run cutting programs according to job specifications
  • Select appropriate assist gases, including oxygen and nitrogen
  • Adjust cutting parameters such as speed, focal point, beam frequency, and other settings based on material type and thickness
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain production and quality standards
  • Perform first-piece inspections and periodic quality checks
  • Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and cut sheets
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet customer specifications and required tolerances
  • Identify and report quality issues or equipment problems to management
  • Follow all company safety rules and procedures
  • Wear required PPE, including laser safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and cut-resistant gloves
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation following 5S principles
  • Perform routine machine and equipment maintenance as required
  • Assist with additional manufacturing and production duties as needed

The ideal candidate will have experience operating industrial laser cutting machinery, reading engineering drawings, and working with various material types and thicknesses.
