Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Business Analyst to work within Waterfall or Agile frameworks, delivering secure Maximo configurations and analytics. You will collaborate with technology teams, business partners, and vendors to drive value while maintaining AEP's standards and practices.

Independent, advanced analysis for diverse projects is expected. The role emphasizes requirement gathering, security design, and cross-functional collaboration for Maximo implementations and upgrades,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing users and security within Maximo and/or MAS.
• 2+ years of experience using SQL for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, technical, and security requirements for Maximo solutions.
• Translate business needs into secure Maximo configurations through process analysis, workflow design, and system setup.
• Design, develop, and administer complex Maximo security models, including roles, groups, permissions, and access controls.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to deliver enhancements, projects, integrations, and support initiatives.
• Provide mentoring, guidance, and knowledge transfer to business analysts and project team members.
• Lead stakeholder workshops and requirements sessions to gather, refine, and validate business needs.
• Support technology investment planning, budgeting, and prioritization to maximize business value and operational efficiency.
• Partner with business and IT leadership to align Maximo strategy, roadmaps, and technology investments with organizational goals.
• Apply Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies to support Maximo implementations, upgrades, and modernization efforts.
• Develop business cases, process documentation, security designs, governance standards, and other key project deliverables.
• Support enterprise-scale Maximo environments by troubleshooting application, security, and data issues, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce licensing costs, and ensuring stable, secure operations.
