American Electric Power seeks a seasoned Business Analyst to work across Waterfall and Agile teams, delivering secure Maximo configurations and scalable technology solutions. You will analyze business needs, design security models, and collaborate with IT and business partners to drive value while aligning with organizational standards.

The role requires strong Maximo expertise, SQL analysis skills, and experience with hybrid/multi-method project delivery.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience managing users and security within Maximo and/or MAS.
• 2 years of experience using SQL for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, technical, and security requirements for Maximo solutions.
• Translate business needs into secure Maximo configurations through process analysis and system setup.
• Design, develop, and administer Maximo security models (roles, groups, permissions, access controls).
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors on enhancements, projects, integrations and support initiatives.
• Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to business analysts and project team members.
• Lead stakeholder workshops and requirements sessions to gather and validate needs.
• Support technology investment planning, budgeting, and prioritization.
• Partner with leadership to align Maximo strategy with goals and roadmaps.
• Apply Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies to Maximo implementations and upgrades.
• Develop business cases, process docs, security designs, governance standards, and other deliverables.
• Troubleshoot enterprise Maximo environments and improve efficiency and security.

Job Summary

Working within Waterfall or Agile frameworks, a Business Analyst will work with a variety of disciplined focused team members all working toward a common goal of delivering value with quality and scale. Responsible for collaborating with other Job Families such within Technology and across our business partners to deliver consistent, reliable technology solutions that leverage AEP's technology standards, architectures and best practices. Independently performs advanced business and project analysis for any sized project.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and administer complex Maximo security models, including roles, groups, permissions, and access controls.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to deliver enhancements, projects, integrations, and support initiatives.
• Provide mentoring, guidance, and knowledge transfer to business analysts and project team members.
• Lead stakeholder workshops and requirements sessions to gather, refine, and validate business needs.
• Support technology investment planning, budgeting, and prioritization to maximize business value and operational efficiency.
• Partner with business and IT leadership to align Maximo strategy, roadmaps, and technology investments with organizational goals.
• Apply Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies to support Maximo implementations, upgrades, and modernization efforts.
• Develop business cases, process documentation, security designs, governance standards, and other key project deliverables.
• Support enterprise-scale Maximo environments by troubleshooting application, security, and data issues, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce licensing costs, and ensuring stable, secure operations.

Additional Requirements:

• 5 years of experience managing users and security within Maximo and/or Maximo Application Suite (MAS).
• 2 years of experience using SQL for data analysis.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Relevant experience in a nuclear power plant or electric power generation utility is strongly preferred.
