Job summary
Owensboro Community and Technical College is seeking a Mathematics Instructor to join the Mathematics, Natural & Social Sciences Department. The role includes teaching a range of mathematics courses such as College Algebra and Trigonometry, with potential for additional courses.
The position reports to the Department Head and requires availability for evening, weekend, online, or hybrid offerings on multiple campuses.
Qualifications
- Master's degree with 18 graduate hours of coursework in Mathematics.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in in-person and online formats.
- Teach 15 credit hours per semester (30 credit hours annually across fall and spring).
- Utilize diverse teaching methodologies to support students with varying backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles to achieve course competencies.
- Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and support students in achieving academic success.
- Complete Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) reports promptly.
- Maintain accessibility for students by holding regular office hours and communicating availability.
- Represent the mathematics program within the community by engaging with professional organizations and stakeholders.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with instructional best practices.
- Contribute to the college's mission through involvement in college and community service activities.
