Job summary

AfterMath Tutoring Services is seeking a Part-time, on-site Math Tutor in Fair Lawn, NJ to work with middle and high school students in small-group settings. You will plan lessons, explain concepts in multiple ways, guide practice problems, monitor progress, provide feedback, and document performance to show measurable improvement.

Pay is $20/hr. Requires a high school diploma; Bachelor's or enrollment in Math/Education/Engineering is preferred.

Role Description:

This is a Part-time, on-site Math Tutor role based in Fair Lawn, NJ. The Math Tutor will deliver clear, structured math instruction to middle and high school students in small-group settings. Responsibilities include planning lessons, explaining concepts in multiple ways, guiding students through practice problems, and supporting SAT math preparation. The tutor will monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and document performance to show measurable improvement over time.

Pay: $20/hr

Qualifications

• High school graduate
• Strong skills in Mathematics, including Algebra, with the ability to break down concepts into accessible steps.
• Clear Communication skills, including the ability to engage students with varying confidence levels and learning styles.
• Patience, reliability, and a commitment to long-term skill-building rather than short-term test preparation alone.
