Job summary

The Meriden Board of Education is seeking a Math Tutor to assist teachers and students with varied classroom activities, focusing on Math preparation in Evidence-based Mathematics. The tutor will provide individualized and small-group academic support aligned to standards and testing strategies, planning, implementing, and assessing services to promote student growth and college readiness.

Reports to: Building Principal; Employment Conditions: 5 hrs per day, 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and students with varied classroom activities with a focus on Math preparation.
• Work with students under a teacher's direction to provide individualized and small-group academic support.
• Plan, implement, and assess services to provide targeted interventions that support student growth and college readiness.
• Report to the Building Principal as part of the school team.

Salary:

• $26.40/hour without a Bachelor's Degree
• Certified Teacher - Meriden Federation of Teachers Member- $45.96
• Certified Teacher - Not Meriden Federation of Teachers- $30.00
• Non-Certified Teacher “Shortage Area” with BA, not Meriden Federation of Teachers- Passing Math Test
