Job summary

Meriden Board of Education is seeking an ELA Tutor focused on Math preparation and evidence-based reading and writing, working with students under a teacher's direction to provide targeted academic support aligned to standards and testing strategies.

Will plan, implement, and assess services to support student growth, confidence, and college readiness, reporting to Building Principal. Employment conditions: 5.5 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Job description

The ELA Tutor will assist teachers and students with varied classroom activities, with a focus on Math preparation in Evidence-based Reading and Writing. The tutor will work with students under a teacher's direction to provide individualized and small-group academic support aligned to standards and testing strategies. Will plan, implement, and assess services to provide targeted interventions that support student growth, confidence, and college readiness.

Reports to: Building Principal

Employment Conditions: 5.5 hrs per day, 5 days per week

Salary:

• $26.40/hour without a Bachelor's Degree
• Certified Teacher - Meriden Federation of Teachers Member- $45.96
• Certified Teacher - Not Meriden Federation of Teachers- $30.00
• Non-Certified Teacher “Shortage Area” with BA, not Meriden Federation of Teachers- Passing Math Test
