Job summary

AoPS Academy in Vienna, VA is hiring a Math Teaching Assistant to support instructors with AoPS curriculum, assist students one-on-one, and help keep a lively, organized classroom for up to 16 learners. Candidates should be at least 16, bring strong math ability, excellent communication, and a collaborative attitude.

This is an in-person role with evenings/weekends; summer camps are offered. Compensation is $17.50–$18.06 per hour, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years old or older.
• Strong math skills with ability to help students navigate advanced concepts.
• Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred.
• Exceptional written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructors with company-created curriculum and materials, helping advanced students grasp complex concepts.
• Work one-on-one with students during class activities and provide additional help when needed.
• Help maintain an organized learning environment and assist in managing up to 16 students.
• Assist with grading and providing constructive feedback on student work.
