Job summary

Our Lady of Mercy Academy, an all-girls faith-based college preparatory high school, seeks a dynamic Mathematics Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. You will teach Algebra I, Algebra II, Physics, and other math courses, designing lessons that emphasize understanding and real-world application.

The candidate should foster critical thinking, use technology and project-based learning, and support students and colleagues to promote growth. Strong NJ certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
• Appropriate New Jersey teaching certification or eligibility required.
• Strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a professional learning community.
• Commitment to building meaningful relationships with students and contributing positively to school culture.
• Enthusiasm for working in an all-girls educational environment focused on leadership, academic excellence, and faith formation.

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of mathematics courses across multiple grade levels, including advanced placement coursework.
• Design engaging lessons that emphasize conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and real-world application of mathematics.
• Integrate technology tools and project-based learning experiences to enhance engagement and deepen understanding.
• Foster the development of soft skills such as collaboration, perseverance, communication, and problem-solving.
• Differentiate instruction to both challenge high-achieving students and support students who require additional assistance.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, counselors, and support staff to promote student growth.
• Maintain a classroom culture rooted in curiosity, accountability, and respect.
• Participate fully in the life of the school community through extracurricular involvement, school events, retreats, and general faculty responsibilities.
• Support and uphold the mission and values of OLMA and the Daughters of Mercy.

Our Lady of Mercy Academy , an all-girls, faith-based college preparatory high school, seeks a dynamic and

Effective Date: Aug 26, 2026
Salary Range: $42,000 to $52,000 (full-time); $17,000 to $31,500 (part-time) depending on teaching load, additional
responsibilities, and experience.
Benefits (full-time): Health insurance, Life insurance, Disability insurance offered 30 days after full time start date.
Paid Time Off: includes sick leave, personal leave, holidays
403B: Employees who work 20 hours or more per week are eligible to participate.
