BASIS Independent Bothell is seeking qualified candidates for a Middle School Math Teacher for fall 2025!

Primary Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Prepare subject-specific lessons in Algebra II and higher for middle school students, as well as sections of high school.
2. Provide subject instruction on a higher level than grade standard, in an interactive learning environment and delivering exceptional results for all students.
3. Implement BASIS Curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments to ensure students’ education is at an internationally competitive level.
4. Collaborate with other BASIS Independent teachers to form a community of smart, talented, and interesting people who are passionate about education and willing to work in a professional, academic environment.
5. Tutor students in content-specific knowledge and skills to enhance their academic and career success.
6. Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement, personal responsibility, and individuality in all students.

Essential Teacher Qualifications:

• Deep knowledge of and passion for the subject taught.
• Able to differentiate instruction and engage students in rigorous content.
• Ability to create a positive classroom community and build relationships with students.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Open to feedback and continuous growth.
• Creative in instructional and classroom management strategies (high warmth and high firmness).
• Cooperative, collaborative, supportive, flexible.
• Strong work ethic and a “do whatever it takes” mindset.

Additional Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in the subject area. Coursework or experience in education is not required, nor is certification. Candidates must be able to obtain a fingerprint clearance card.

Preferred Qualifications: Subject matter postgraduate work (master's or Ph.D.) is preferred. Demonstrate high educational attainment, strong communication skills, high GPA in major, excellent recommendations, experience working with children, and openness to new teaching ideas.
