Description

Transform Lives as a Math Teacher at our DC Charter! The Children's Guild is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming education and care for children through various programs. We are seeking a Math Teacher to provide instruction in a K-8 setting, reporting directly to the Principal. Responsibilities include developing curriculum aligned with standards, collaborating with staff, managing classroom culture, and engaging with families.

Responsibilities

• Develop age-appropriate lessons aligned to the Common Core State Standards.
• Collaborate with team members and administration.
• Attend professional development and staff meetings.
• Follow the school mission and instill core beliefs in students.
• Help students develop critical, creative, and problem-solving skills.
• Use data for planning and assessment.
• Maintain accurate grading and classroom management.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.
• Support culturally competent and inclusive community practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Valid teaching certification for the subject area, eligible for certification in DC or reciprocity.
• Preferred: 2-4 years of experience or equivalent training.

Additional Requirements

• Commitment to the organization's philosophy and mission.
• Completion of pre-service training and behavior management certification.
• Minimum attendance and participation in meetings and activities.

Work Conditions

• Forty-five hours per week, ten months per year.
• Evening meetings and home visits as needed.
