Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates is seeking Math Teachers for the 2027-2028 school year at independent schools in the San Francisco area. The role involves delivering engaging math instruction and collaborating with faculty to align with curricula.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in math or related field, with teaching experience at middle or high school level; master’s preferred for advanced courses. Strong communication and classroom management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Math Education, or a related field.
• Experience teaching math at middle/high school level, preferably in a private/independent school setting.
• Experience designing hands-on experiments.
• Experience with AP Math or IB Math may be a plus.
• Ability to explain complex topics clearly and engage students.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging math lessons for students at various levels (e.g., middle school, high school, or advanced courses).
• Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles, including lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and experiments.
• Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments in alignment with the curriculum and educational standards.
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with other faculty members to create and refine curriculum materials, ensuring they meet the needs of the school’s educational goals.
• Maintain an orderly and productive classroom environment, addressing student behavior and promoting respect for others.
• Encourage and guide students in collaborative group work and individual tasks.
• Provide timely feedback to students on their progress, offering support and guidance to help them improve.
• Offer additional support during office hours, study sessions, or one-on-one mentoring for students who require extra help or challenge.
