Suffolk County Community College seeks an Instructor/Assistant Professor and Coordinator for the Mathematics and Science Learning Center at the Eastern Campus in Riverhead. The person will teach Mathematics and oversee the Learning Center operations, mentoring students and coordinating tutoring services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics is required.
• Ability to teach the full range of Mathematics courses offered by the department.
• Commitment to mentoring students and engaging in professional development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and promote the operations of the Mathematics and Science Learning Center.
• Teach one 3-credit Mathematics course per semester and provide tutoring/administrative hours.
• Work with a 35-hour admin/teaching week outside fall/spring terms.
• Supervise tutors and coordinate tutoring schedules.
• Maintain a student usage database and provide reports for planning and effectiveness.
• Coordinate alternate testing services for Mathematics and Science.
• Collaborate with campus administrators to schedule student-learning events.
• Participate in departmental and college committees and assessment efforts.
• Assist with development and implementation of special programs.
