Job summary

Holyoke Public Schools is seeking a Math Interventionist to join the math team and work across grade levels, meeting with students in small groups. The role requires assessment, data maintenance, and presenting growth and trends.

The Math Interventionist will meet and instruct classes, plan targeted instruction, and communicate progress to students and families. Experience in urban settings and Spanish bilingual abilities are strongly encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• At least one year of full-time teaching experience.
• Experience working in an urban setting preferred.
• Experience working with diverse student populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plan a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities using varied instructional techniques.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for student maturity.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Assess student progress and provide progress reports as required.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Make yourself available to students and parents outside instructional hours when needed.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, and evaluate their performance.
• Attend staff meetings and participate on committees as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
