Job summary

Albanyschools is seeking an Elementary Math Interventionist for Roots Academy at West Hill. This role focuses on targeted math support for elementary students through data-driven planning and RTI alignment.

You will collaborate with teachers, Math Coach, and Instructional Supervisor to implement high-leverage strategies and monitor progress using BRIDGES and Dreambox data.

Qualifications

• Experience reviewing student data from multiple sources to determine student needs.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, math coaches, and supervisors to identify high-leverage strategies.
• Experience implementing progress monitoring with fidelity and reporting results.

Responsibilities

• Review data from multiple sources (BRIDGES progress monitoring probes, formative assessments, summative assessments, NWEA, State Test, Benchmarks) to determine the needs of each student assigned for support.
• Assist in the administering of grade-level benchmarks.
• Collaborate with Classroom Teachers, Math Coach, and Instructional Supervisor to identify high-leverage strategies and practices to enhance learning.
• Progress monitor students at least twice per quarter using BRIDGES assessments. (Training around BRIDGES will be provided).
• Monitor Dreambox student data to guide planning and update platform.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to study, research, and reflect upon best practices to share with various stakeholders.
• In collaboration with the Elementary STEM Supervisor and Math Coaches, support district-wide curriculum and assessment development. This includes curriculum writing, text book/resource review, NGMS alignment, distribution of math manipulatives, and other ACSD protocols.
• Participate in required monthly Math Interventionist meetings as organized by the Elementary STEM Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Valid NYS Certification: Childhood Education (1-6) and/or Special Education (1-6)

General Statement:

The Math Interventionist serves as an instructional resource person to provide focused math support at the elementary level. The Interventionist will plan and engage students in small-group and individualized learning activities designed to support students in accessing grade-level content/skills. Working closely with the classroom teacher, the Interventionist will ensure RTI alignment with instructional CORE pacing. The Math Interventionist must have a research based repertoire of strategies that can be used to improve student achievement in Mathematics. The Math Interventionist will be a member of the Elementary Math Department assigned to work at building(s) within the district. The Math Interventionist will meet weekly with their building Math Coach to ensure seamless support for the classroom programming.
