Job summary

The Leona Group in Detroit is seeking a dedicated teacher to provide high-quality instruction and work collaboratively with school leaders, colleagues, students, parents, and the board to meet academic goals. You will implement the academy curriculum and contribute to short- and long-term improvements.

Responsibilities include planning lessons aligned to state standards, developing resources with instructional coaches, and supporting students with diverse needs through inclusive practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in subject area or related field.
• State teaching licensure/certification required.
• Demonstrated commitment to student learning and achievement.

Responsibilities

• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and enforce behavior standards.
• Plan a program of study aligned with state and school standards.
• Develop and submit lesson plans; collaborate with instructional coach and review feedback.
• Collaborate with special education staff to support students with diverse needs, including IEPs.
• Communicate with parents and be available outside normal hours to discuss student progress.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with time and effort reporting requirements.
• Participate in extracurricular activities as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
