Job summary

The Leona Group is seeking a qualified teacher to deliver high-quality instruction and collaborate with school leaders, colleagues, students, parents and the board to achieve the academy's educational goals.

You will plan lessons aligned to state standards, maintain student records, support behavior initiatives, and participate in professional development to maintain licensure and deliver engaging learning experiences for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• State teacher licensure/certification with appropriate endorsements.
• Bachelor’s degree with subject area emphasis and/or coursework and/or experience necessary to be deemed highly qualified.
• Demonstrated commitment to young people’s learning success and achievement.
• Demonstrated proficiency in teaching/tutoring with experience and in student/parent relations.

Responsibilities

• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and enforce the academy's behavior code.
• Plan study programs meeting student needs; align lessons with state and school standards.
• Develop lesson plans, receive feedback, and collaborate with instructional staff to improve instruction.
• Collaborate with special education staff to implement inclusive practices and accommodations as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with parents; participate in meetings and school improvement efforts.
• Participate in extracurricular activities as assigned and other duties as needed.
