Job summary

The Leona Group in Detroit is seeking a qualified teacher to provide high-quality instruction and collaborate with school leaders, colleagues, students, and parents to meet educational goals.

You will plan a program of study aligned with state standards, develop lesson plans, and work with instructional coaches to raise student achievement while maintaining accurate records and communicating regularly with families.

Qualifications

• State teacher licensure/certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree with subject area emphasis.
• Commitment to student learning and achievement.
• Experience in planning and assessing instruction.

Responsibilities

• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and enforce behavior policies.
• Plan a program of study aligned with state standards.
• Develop lesson plans and collaborate with instructional coaches.
• Collaborate with special education staff for inclusive practices.
• Maintain accurate records and protect student confidentiality.
• Communicate with parents and involve them in learning.
• Participate in extracurricular activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
