Job summary

Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a school-based math intervention specialist/coach to collaborate with site principals and teachers to support math instruction and district-wide improvement goals at the assigned campus.

The role includes coordinating professional development with district curriculum staff, analyzing student achievement data, co-planning and co-teaching, and mentoring teachers to implement evidence-based strategies that raise achievement for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Arizona teacher certification aligned to grade levels where assigned.
• Minimum five years successful teaching experience preferred.
• Reading endorsement preferred.
• Commitment to lifelong learning.
• Knowledge of and experience with best practice research strategies.
• Active participation in school improvement initiatives.
• Proficient in using technology (specifically Excel at some sites).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site principals and teachers to support math instruction.
• Collaborate with district curriculum team to refine instructional and coaching skills.
• Coordinate program implementation and ensure compliance with Title I requirements.
• Design and facilitate professional development aligned with school improvement goals.
• Provide data-driven feedback to teachers based on student achievement data.
• Support teachers with curriculum adoption and instructional strategies.
• Model or co-teach lessons and assist with lesson planning and assessment development.
• Mentor teachers new to the profession and support site-wide improvement initiatives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher

Master’s degree preferred

Arizona teacher certification

Minimum five years teaching experience preferred
