Job summary

Mathnasium: The Math Learning Center in Barrington, IL seeks a dedicated Math Instructor II to help students in grades 2–12 through the Mathnasium Method. You will deliver engaging math instruction in-person, with some online or hybrid delivery options.

Responsibilities include assessing progress, collaborating with the team, and maintaining a safe, positive learning environment. This role offers after‑school and weekend shifts with growth and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Passion for math and working with students.

• Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I.
• Ability to balance various ongoing tasks.
• High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Teach/tutor in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices
• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
• Assess students’ learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions
• Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes
• Support the maintenance of a safe and professional learning environment

What You Will Do...

As an Instructor, you will be a passionate and outgoing individual who will positively impact the community by creating a welcoming environment for our students and families. Candidates will be trained to provide effective and concise math instruction. You will motivate and inspire students to learn by creating an engaging, positive and productive learning environment while establishing a high level of confidence and program value. Instructors will assist in evaluating and tracking the progress of each student through effective communication with the Center Manager and staff, as well as perform operational functions as required.

All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.

Position: Math Instructor II

Job Type: In-Person, Part-Time, 2 Shifts per week

Compensation: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
