Job summary

The New Jersey Institute of Technology seeks a Part-time Mathematics Instructor to deliver grade-level math instruction for middle and high school students as part of the GEAR UP/College Bound program. Position supports year-round programming, including summer sessions, with classes scheduled Monday–Thursday (occasional Fridays) and Saturdays.

Qualifications include Mathematics certification; experience with minority and disadvantaged students is preferred.

Ability to align math instruction with standards and assessments.

Responsibilities

Provide grade-level mathematics instruction to middle/high school students.
Integrate reading and writing skills into math lessons.
Help students develop study, time management and test-taking skills.
Build student confidence in mathematics and strengthen problem-solving abilities.
Prepare students for PARCC, PSAT, SAT, and ACT assessments.
Attend required staff development and training sessions.
Submit typed lesson plans in a timely manner.
Assist in curriculum development aligned with New Jersey standards.
Create a positive learning environment and maintain records.
Participate in assessments and other duties as assigned.
