Job summary

Teaching Lab is a nonprofit organization… The Facilitator/Coach designs and delivers high‑quality professional learning for educators, offering 1:1 coaching and group sessions, in-person or virtual, to strengthen instructional practice and improve student outcomes.

The role is project-based and flexible, with no guaranteed hours; compensation uses day-rate structures ranging from 350–1,150 USD per day depending on engagement, with longer engagements often covering preparation and follow-up.

Qualifications

• Deep experience coaching educators in grades 6-8 math.
• Experience teaching or coaching Illustrative Math curricula.
• Experience implementing California Common Core State Standards.
• At least two years of experience as an instructional coach with impact on student learning outcomes.
• Experience supporting various levels of instruction across classroom settings.
• Experience designing professional development materials or serving as an instructional designer.
• Experience facilitating professional learning in virtual and in-person settings.
• Experience building relationships with diverse stakeholders in an education context.
• Experience empowering teachers to shift practice and mindset to improve outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering professional development sessions, including feedback cycles.
• Providing tailored 1:1 coaching and group learning experiences, in person or virtual.
• Building collaborative relationships with educators and leaders to strengthen instructional capacity.
• Supporting data collection, reporting, and reflection to measure impact of coaching initiatives.
